There are some types and phases of operations our surgeons can do

Legs lengthening and increasing of height

During operation we make artificial fractures of both legs and apply Ilizarov-Veklich's fixators. The operation lasts hour and a half. After the operation patient has three months of legs lengthening period. During this time between artificial fractured bones arises neogenesis . Neogenesis is the thick matter lengthened with the help of fixator. After three months of lengthening period neogenesis began harden and after tree - four months of rehabilitation - elongated bones completely accrete. Then patient have small operation for taking away fixators. It lasts twenty - thirty minutes. So it takes six month to increase height for 2 - 2,4 inch. If you want to increase your height another 4,8 inch then you will have two phases of treatment. The first phase lasts five - six months (another 2 - 2,4 inch) then you will have rest for five - six months and the second phase lasts five -six months (another 2 - 2,4 inch). In this case complete treatment will last a year and a half.

Correction of such deformations as bowlegs and knock - knee

Bowlegs is a condition when the legs are bowed outwards in the standing position. Knock-knee is a condition when the legs are bowed inwards in the standing position. For correcting a biomechanical axes of legs we use the simplified Ilizarov-Veklich's fixator, consisting from two semi-rings and three bars, total weigh - 400 grams (1 pound). The operation is carried out bloodlessly without an incision of a skin. The process of operation lasts twenty-five - forty minutes. Hole treatment takes two and a half - three months depending on age and extent of deformation. Then patient have small operation for taking away fixators. It lasts fifteen minutes. The correcting of deformation of knee joints serves preventive treatment obstructing development of a distorting arthrosis in the future.

Treatment of open and closed fractures

We apply Ilizarov-Veklich's fixators in the place where the bone was broken. The operation takes thirty minutes - two hours depending of complexity and occurrence of fracture. The full accreting of bones occures after two weeks (in children - six months). Then patient have small operation for taking away fixators. It lasts twenty - thirty minutes.
